Sinclair ZX Spectrum Next

The ZX Spectrum Next is the evolution of the original ZX Spectrum, an 8-bit personal home computer released in the United Kingdom in 1982 by Sinclair Research. Roughly four decades later, SpecNext Ltd launched a couple of successful crowdfunding campaigns that delivered thousands of units of the brand new ZX Spectrum Next around the world. As a contributor, I was in charge of creating an official 4K trailer and high-resolution marketing images to promote one of them.
In addition to being backward compatible with the original Spectrum, the ZX Spectrum Next is also much more powerful, with better video and sound capabilities, plus it runs new software.
The ZX Spectrum brand has entered the 21st century—and the use of CGI graphics fit the bill perfectly. The sleek and modern feel of these marketing pieces matches the elegant and progressive look of the “Next” conceived by legendary industrial designers Rick Dickinson (1957–2018) and Phil Candy.
Back in the day, more than five million units of the ZX Spectrum were sold worldwide, not including other clone computers. It was the most successful home computer in British history.
